PCS-1902
HIGH HEAT SILICONE ALUMINUM

DESCRIPTION:  An aluminum pigmented silicone resin finish coat for interior or exterior use where high temperatures are encountered.  PCS-1902 has excellent weather and thermal shock resistance; wide temperature fluctuations do not affect the finish.  Suitable for applications up to 1500oF.  Normally two thin coats provide protection, but where severe corrosion is expected, use an inorganic zinc-rich primer under PCS-1902.

USES:  Reactors, stacks, high-temperature piping, boilers, incinerators, cracking towers, etc.  Not for use where temperature does not reach a minimum of 300oF.

SURFACE PREPARATION:  Abrasive blast clean to SSPC-SP6-63 with a surface profile of 1.0-1.5 mil as the preferred preparation; however, SSPC-SP2 or SSPC-SP3, hand or tool cleaning, will generally result in satisfactory performance.  Remove all grease and oil as the first step in preparation.

MIXING:  Stir until thoroughly mixed; avoid beating air into the coating.

THINNING:  Roll or brush as received; for spray application it may be necessary to add up to ½ pint per gallon of REDUCER #75.

APPLICATION:  Satisfactory performance requires thin film applications.  Two coats at 2-3 mils wet each gives a final thickness of 1-1.5 mils DFT.  Excessive film thickness can cause failure due to thermal shock.  Conventional spray is recommended: DeVilbiss P-MBC-510 gun with FF tip and #704 air cap, double regulator on pressure pot and an oil/moisture separator in the air supply

CAUTIONS:  Flammable.  This product contains solvents.  Keep away from heat and open flame.  Keep containers closed.  Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapor. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin.  If used in confined areas, observe the following precautions to prevent hazards of fire, or explosions, or damage to health:  (1) circulate adequate fresh air continuously during application and drying;  (2) use fresh air masks and explosion-proof equipment;  (3) prohibit all flames, sparks, welding, and smoking.

If swallowed, do not induce vomiting.  Call a physician immediately.  For eye contact, flush with plenty of water.  In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water.

See material safety data sheets for full precautions prior to use.

PCS-1902 is intended for INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY.
